Shrewsbury B&B with a warm welcome and luxurious comforts

At the Isle Estate B&B in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, owners Edward and Ros are down-to-earth and hands-on. Eggs, bacon, ham, vegetables, and logs are all sourced from the estate. You’ll also discover warm fires and soft rugs, scenic walks, riding and cross country hire, fishing and glorious food.

Dining and food

Breakfast at this Shrewsbury B&B is served in the dining room. It’s full of character, much like the rest of the house. Wood-panelled and comfortable, many people comment on the paintings round the room. Edward is happy to tell their stories and offer local knowledge when asked.

All food is prepared on site with locally-grown produce and locally-sourced meat.

Cross country courses

Guests staying with us can use our farm ride at no extra charge. You can enjoy riding around the nearly 1000 acres of the Estate inside the bow of the River Severn and school over 80+ fences including a water complex, steps, trakehners and hedges.

Things to do

As well as horse-riding, you can relax and have a swim in our outdoor heated swimming pool in the walled garden. There are also tables, chairs and a barbeque if you should want to eat or cook “al fresco” in summer.

You can also fish the 11-acre carp lake or the River Severn.

""My sister and I had a fantastic night stay at the Isle. The house is amazing as is the land- we had two lovely walks around the fields and alongside the river. Great hosts, very helpful and friendly - and gave us a lift into the town in the evening with great recommendations of places to eat and drink. Fabulous food in the dining room in the morning , the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend."

"Staying on the Isle with Ros and Edward is, quite simply extraordinarily good. Their welcome is so relaxed and warm that you feel as if you are invited into another world, a quietly posh world where family pictures of horses and dogs and favourite hens line the walls and riding boots are tucked in beside the hall table... All the right boxes are ticked: plenty of hot water, a fine comfortable bed, absolute peace, and breakfast... well let's just say that you don't get breakfast like that unless you keep free range hens and have access to excellent sausages... Wonderful. This is much more than a bed for the night. I really do recommend The Isle."
